Make it up as you go along

Here is a return to an old bug bear of mine .Statistics . The Retail Federation is saying UK sales over the festive period " may " have been higher than last Christmas . So the word" may " has been used to promote an image of better results without the need for stats over the Christmas season . The truth will out no doubt soon with proper figures but nothing will be lost for now as a temporary positve picture has been portrayed ( and this is all thats needed for now ) and can always be back tracked on , but heh spending for now is " up " and this is " good " Of course another method of spinning the stats is measuring in very small tenths of a percent such as 0.2 or something stupid . This can show a movement from your last figure easily in whatever direction you like and can turn a NEGATIVE in to a POSITIVE for inflation or economic " growth " and the more often you measure in a year the more movements however small you can show and this appears impressive . Now our economy has stopped growing for the long term future you will see this method used to show slight " growth " Much better than saying its in decline slightly . Government must love it... Now imagine if we could live like this ?

The Woman in Black

Watching THE WOMAN IN BLACK at the moment . This film scares me . Its been a long while since a film has done this to me . Very unsettling in a way i have yet to realise and shocks are amplified big time . This was not helped by the wind whistling round my house and a tap dripping in the kitchen . My reflection even had me on edge in the window panes . Went to bed nervous....

Once again I was flabbergasted ( who knows how its spelt ? ) while out shopping . I went too Lancaster too an M&S sale . Found some jeans I wanted to try on only to find all the changing rooms were closed " to avoid disruption ! " Well it certainly disrupted me as i went home empty handed . What a stupid way to run a sale . Here's a line of discounted stock for you but you cant try it on . FUCK OFF !!!! JUST FUCK OFF.... Nevermind I had only made a 60 mile round trip.....

What a year

Im sat here at 2am hungry ? Is that possible on Boxing day ? Post Christmas gluttony is fading . Chocolate cake has run out... A wind is whistling round our windows and somewhere a near full moon is lighting up a night of heavy showers.... Listening to some music as i drifted off to sleep i looked back as you do over the past year and I suddenly realised all the events that had happened to me in one brief moment as if in a collage , and what a picture it was . So amazing. I AM TRULY BLESSED ! only i cant see it everyday all the time . In fact its been so mind blowing i think im blocking it out to cope with the everyday .I said the year before was unexpected but this one has been like a roller coaster . Good magical holidays at strange places experiencing mind blowing things , the birth of Evie , a family wedding , unexpected drama of friends experiences as i watch unbelieving ! What of next year then ? More of the same ? Lets hope so...

Football mate !

Football Champions League . Since when is soaring emotional classical angelic sounding music needed to promote this grubby sport . It is hardly the hieght of human evolution , in fact greed , arrogance , violence and the do anything antics displayed on the pitch are a disgrace . I think some 90,s metal music might be more fitting ( and there aint anything wrong with that either ) It just takes its self far too seriously ! I can hear that damned music soaring now .....

Monopoly new style

My nephew has recieved a " new style " updated Monoply game . Oh dear , gone are the traditional streets like PALL MALL ect as they have been replaced by shopping centers and liesure complexs with " bling " . The emphasis is now on the bling money can buy , not the earning power brought in by owning a prestigous property and the excitement of making your friends pay to the point of bankrupting them ! Ha ! All soul has been lost in a silly me , me , me concept . Pathetic . OH YEAH MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL

Dear CBBC , Could we please have some white fully physicaly formed children on occasionaly . At least make them not the minority on every program because this is distorting young minds. I would expect this kind of social conditioning from a dictator or tyrant....

A bleak December morning

This morning as i drove to work the light has changed so much in the Dale that the tree's were silouetted black against grey winter sky as they only are in the month of December . Frost was still on the ground though the sky had clouded up for the coming rain . A bitter damp wind was blowing over the frozen fields as the tree's began to sway , the wind in thier tops . A sense of bleak excitement was abound if that makes sense...

A damp one

I hate weather men/women who call a wet day " a damp one " . No a wet winters day is not mearly damp its fucking WET believe me !

Sharing

Sharing a good book with a friend or family ( they can co-exist ) is a higher part of life and is the pinacle of good will . If its a little off the beaten path all the better .

A baby of colour !

Since having a baby daughter i have been exposed to baby tv and lots of baby books . It amazes me the majority of children portrayed are of colour to the point its ridiculas ! Even insulting your intelligence.... Does it matter ? That will depend if you care about how your race ( oh thats a taboo ) is portrayed .Its out of proportion thats all . The next generation doesnt see colour anyway so my views are probably worthless . I can see Evie shouting at me in the future like i did at my Grandad's out dated , bigoted views . I must be getting older....

The suicide nurse story doesnt sit right does it ? It stinks of an over reaction to an embaressing security blunder . Its not the first time youve felt like this on a royal story is it ? But lets not go there....

Not playing this game

Public mood is a fucker . It can turn on a sixpence violently . Hence the suicide of the nurse who answered the prank phone call enquiring about Kate Middletons condition . How we all laughed at a ridiculas accent that was really taken to be the queen at the hospital reception . Said receptionist commits suicide next day and all moral hell breaks loose against the Australian radio hosts . Real venom . Real hatred. A child like swing of mood . Just dont expect me to play along with this shit! I dont play this game as someone once said to me....

An odd December day

This morning is an oddity . Snow is still on the hill tops but has thawed in the bottom of the valley . Its a bright winters day with patches of light cloud and an atomosphere of spring is somehow in the air . Jackdaws are fighting over nesting sights pretending its spring too . So its not all just " in my head " . A hint of Christmas spirit has sprung up too . Somewhere people will be franticaly converting this nice atomoshere in to the need to shop . No not on you nelly !!! Going to service my car now . Oil change ect as its light , dry and all is reasonably clean now its been a frosty week . A halfway day when anything could happen . The moon is fading too half gone too, and pretty it has been in a wintery way .
