£1300 a year on electric

Another electric bill has come through the letter box . Up the prices are going not helped by  coal fired power stations begining to be shut down this spring because of their co2 emmisions . This will lead us to be more reliant on imported gas and hey guess what ? prices and demand are now spiking !! Way to go !!!  So because the Goverment is listening to the greens and Europe we are going to pay the price in even higher bills . Oh yeah and thats if the electric is even available as we have very little spare capacity ... What wonderful timing eh ? But dont worry im sure someone has thier eye on it and will keep the coal ones running for us .... er right ! I wouldnt hold your breath .

Anyone see the paradox of Nike sponsoring an athlete with no feet ?  Nah seriously though Nike  have stuck by Pristoris as his sponsor despite him battering his model girlfriend to death with a cricket bat and shooting her !!! ( well until yesterday at least ) Bizarrely I think if he was able bodied Nike would have dropped him like a stone . Some taboos are stronger than steel . A bad disabled man ... NEVER !

The BBC has started advertising its new wildlife show Eden , presented once again by David Attenborough  . The volume on this advert is notably louder than the previous item on T.V  no doubt to get our attention at yet another program hosted by this legend in broadcasting who i am quite fed up of having watched him for over 30 years ... yawn . Dare i say this but i think its time for a replacement by the next younger generation.

Hissing female reporters

Her emphasis is on the key words of controversy rather than the key facts . A c*** of modern proportions i think . A media witch of our times...

George Orwell

I have started reading a very interesting book by George Orwell called Down and Out in London and Paris . Its an account of his early days living in poverty in the said city's before he found fame and fortune as an author . What is very interesting is his account of the practicality's and everyday skills needed to survive on so little a day and the unexpected upsets he never saw coming . The  stories he collected from those he met on the streets are also amazing . True stories about upheaval and sudden financial ruin  forcing once reasonably off people into circumstances where their day to day survival became their new priority. The twists and turns of fate make fools of us all .

Hedging

 Having a good days hedging on a rather pleasant winters afternoon .Well at least its not raining again . Hard work till you get climatized as your using different muscles and wood never gives up easily when you trying to reshape it into some kind of order. Axe is mega sharp and we have a smaller chain saw which is lighter to use which helps the process.
