No I have not packed my tooth brush !

Another obsession we have in this country is brushing our teeth . Apparently according to our Dentists , twice a day is essential . Then this steadily increased to " after every meal " . When exactly are we supposed to find the time and energy to do all this brushing . We are never going to taste a meal again ! Of course all this is rubbish . I brush mine every few days and having just visited my Dentist this week I can tell you he said my brushing was " satisfactory " . Its an example of taking a health related action to the furthest extreme . Listen to them and you wont have any time left for life after adequately brushing to do anything else !

P.S   My Dentist says  " No one knows what causes Tarter " ( thats not plaque )

Its probably to late for this but...

We live in a country with a complete obsession with the University . This obsession is pushed by social pride and family reputations . Schools are also to blame . It is a given that the goal of any teenager should be to attend a University . All are taught they have what it takes . Well they don't . Its a fact of life . We are not all suited to this path . This is a taboo subject . Instead jobs that require a manual skill such as a builder , plumber or an electrician ( and you try getting one of them when you need one ) are now being looked down upon by young people . These jobs are now being done by Eastern Europeans and they are making a fortune and undercutting UK workers . Its  unfortunate , but you really cant blame them if UK young people aren't interested in a career in doing these jobs .
    The crying shame is many people leaving University cant find jobs relating to what they've learnt , and that means all they've gained is a "  badge of approval " that they attended . Is that what University has become ? Im not anti University at all , just the idea that it MUST be  EVERYONES goal . We need to restore some balance and stop leading  some teenagers on down a road that inflates the ego of the high school and their parents . I posted on fb yesterday that you never hear a parent saying " My child is good with their hands ! "  They only boast about their childs academic skills . I would like to see manual skills getting the respect they once deserved ! Its nice to have high goals when we are young but they must be realistic !

The winter silly season

Its the start of the winter silly season . Christians start organising anti-Halloween meetings and worrying their child's soul is in peril if they buy them a pumpkin . The same parents are probably moaning that anyone can buy fireworks over the shop counter , and this will probably lead to Armageddon no doubt . Mean while TV advertising has started their  Christmas offencive  before October has ended or bonfire night has even started . Its the same every year .

A bloody stupid idea !

If a celebrity or famous person has died  then whats the point of keeping celebrating their birthdays by saying " If they were alive today they would be 120 years old "   Well they are  not . They are dead . So how can you possibly  keep celebrating their birthdays . Bloody stupid idea . Popular though !

Well this is a first....

I recently came across a person that completely baffled me . He either ignored what I said or when he did make an attempt at a reply it was filled with a total mocking arrogant  sarcasm . He would mimic me but add lots of heart felt Oooooh's or ahhhhh or even prolonged  " Yeeeeeaaah  that's right " but he did it in such a condescending manner I found it hard to accept he didn't realise how he sounded . He did this several times when I expressed a point that excited me . He was also very distant and cold , his replys were forced too . I felt he was the complete opposite to me . Why would someone be so openly obnoxious to me when the very act of speaking seemed to require so much effort ? His behaviour didn't seem to bother anyone else around me and only I seemed to be offended .  Did he really want to be hated ? Do such people really exist ? It would seem so ...

Round and round we go...

I have several situations to sort out . Every weekend I go through the same build up of reasoning only to abandon my plans again . I am getting nowhere fast . Things are sliding away into a twilight zone   or a distant legendry haze . This is me building up to actually taking action . It can take me a while to build momentum . Backwards and forward I go until something sticks...

Today I woke up swearing at my radio . That's not unusual . Well not when our Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osbourne is upping the economy again .  " We are on the road to prosperity " he says as our " growth " is 0.8% this quarter . You f*&^^%% idiot ! Never have I in my life seen such a big gap between what my TV tells me and reality . Its getting worse . It feels dream like . Its a classic example of the all too familiar  " emperor's clothes " story , it really is . Because he says a recover is happening no one in the media will call he a liar  , but here in the real world we know he's quite frankly deluded . And the reason for this growth ? ALL THAT MONEY YOU PRINTED TO BAIL OUT YOU ETON BANKING FRIENDS !!!    ( and were still borrowing as much to keep this zombie country running ) What a success eh ?

Its " Poppy " time again

Soldiers returning home from war minus a leg or friends suddenly decide war wasn't such a good idea . This never changes but im supposed to be moved / surprised by this according to my TV . People choosing war as a career are just teenagers . To exploit them at this age is the biggest crime I know of . By the time they figure out their mistake its too late . Of course they are very brave but how many really expect the after effects , especially at such a naive age . They deserve respect and honour but only if the root cause of their exploitation is exposed and something done to change this . War is unfortunately unavoidable , but exploitation isnt ! Now read that again....

Only the woolly  minded Liberal Democrats would make a public press release opposing the potential lifting of green taxes that are increasing our ever raising electric bills . They have just risen 10 % again this month . So much for 2 % inflation  ....

Out of site , out of mind ?

Last night I had the most horrible dream or super dream you might say . I dreamt a situation that was a blend of every anxiety or emotional hang up I have from every past situation all morphed together into one general feeling of horror and emptiness in my dream . Everything I feared or had been scared of in the past mingled into one emotion contained in the dream . The emotion felt too real . Well the emotion was real and out it came when I was asleep . Not nice at all . The things we push out of mind are festering away somewhere . Saying that I feel a new positive era coming on as winter starts . The transition to winter mode is nearly complete . I seem to be putting my posts on the wrong blogs today or am I ?  Time for sleep and hopefully better dreams tonight ....

Winter approaches again

Suddenly winter is on my heels . A day of cold strong winds and leaves flying of tree's . The ground is softening fast , caused by the torrential showers . Tonight an urgency is in air as the light has gone to a water blue on the land and a sharpness has made its self visible visually . ( yes , i think that makes sense ) Tomorrow the cows are coming inside now ive got the gates and building repairs almost finished . They wont go outside again until probably late May . They will be to feed everyday until then . So that means machinery must work everyday until May ( and it wont ) but thats all in the mix living in a remote area . My daily routine has now formed for what will be the next 7 months . Short muddy days are ahead and darkness . People who have moved to Dent this summer are in for a shock !!!

Gothic

Just got back from picking up my cousin who's van has broken down . Been blasting our FNM  as a moody as fuck yellow moon is drifting in and out of the black gothic clouds . Its intense and morose . Surely such a sight as such cannot purely be a result of a non conscious force as there is too much of the human emotion in the view .

A positive contribution

One of my favourite shops is Rycrofts  in Sedbergh . The owner passed away last year but everything about him echoed a by gone era  . He used to ware a long brown overcoat as seen in the TV series Open All Hours , and he would write every sale down with a pencil in his record book while you had to wait patiently . The shop sells house hold goods . It sells everything I ever need . Electric cables , screws , pet food , battery's ect .Many brands are old traditional ones . Everything is decent quality  , not modern trash standards . Whether this shop makes economic sense to the owner I dont know . His widow now runs the store with reduced opening hours  and  how long this will continue I don't know  , but all I can say is every time I visit the store its a pleasure and very good value . I guess the modern age will catch up eventually ,  but until then Im smiling !

The Internet is becoming more scary . Ive just had an advert on my face book page for the band Fields of the Nephilim  but Ive never searched this directly but I have viewed a post mentioning this . Is that enough to register this as one of my interests ?  There is more and more tracking and cross referencing of what we look at . The future is looking darker tonight for Internet use , especially for those of unconventional views . God knows what the future holds on line !!! Uneasy

An uneasy night alright . Listening to White Zombie on my stereo rather too loud , but the neighbours haven't complained yet !  Its been thundering and lightening as well  tonight which is unusual for this time of year . Maybe the lightening has charged the air giving a tense atmosphere , maybe . Actually ive solved the puzzle , its the moonlight shining into our living room !!!  Oh dear time for bed I think , with the curtains closed or I will never settle.....

How does this improve my day ?

Im getting sick of stupid posts on face book . For example pictures of badly beaten children put up to shock . Who wants to shock me ,  and why ? Who benefits from posting these photo's ? Why would anyone want to inflict them on their " friends "  ?  Is it raising awareness ? Is it designed to mentally  jarr us for some unseen reason ? I don't know because they never have any kind of philosophy behind them . Pointless , disturbing and unnecessary . Ive left my views there anyway lol  !   Isnt it  strange how if you criticise a view point for going to far people assume you don't care about it at all ?  There is a difference.....

Its a bit worrying but im really starting to get sick of capitalism . I have no alternative though . Well the problem isnt really capitalism , its a new breed of extreme stupidity and short term greed by our suppliers of our everyday commodities . Yeah thats a bit more accurate.....

Gorge Osbourne has announced China is to  fund  and build our new badly needed nuclear power stations . It seems we are skint and cant do the job our selves . Lets hope the finance doesnt fall through or we will be screwed . Oh and weve just shut down 20% of our power stations because they were burning coal . Europe told us to do that , so we did it . If were supposed to be so anti Europe in this country ,  why do we follow their stupid advice  . Today coal is at a new low price as well . We are going to be short of electric soon so why would we do this?

We have an up coming energy crises in this country . Spare capacity will soon be down to 2 % but hey dont worry , our wonderful government has a plan ; cut the electricity supply to industry and financially compensate the factories . Well f**k me if that ain't a brilliant plan to aid our economic recovery !!!!  They will do ANYTHING to stop voters lights going out so they can keep their own Parliamentary seats .
   When I left school the books were balanced . Now we look to events like " increased barbecue sales due to a hot summer " to up the monthly sales figures . That's how desperate things are . Oh and apparently houses going up in London is good too . Well for the banks that is.....

The Government has done a U-turn on a " never never land  " policy that was meant to prevent people having to sell their houses to fund their care home costs in old age . Surprise , surprise ! Life's great isn't it ? You work all your life to pay off a mortgage , then when you've finally paid it off you have to sell the house to fund your care home ( 700 pounds a week ! ) The bank then owns your house again as a new buyer takes out a life time loan . Its the perfect financial cycle . You wont find a politician breaking this financial treadmill .

Its quite a nice day , not to warm and there is a gusty North wind howling around anything in its way . This month is ticking along though . The nights really are pulling in fast and the mornings are definitely  darker . Its time to light our fire now and doing this will be a constant annoyance every night , though being without it robs the living room of all atmosphere . Strange how fire can change a room so much .
  Some gloves Ive ordered have come . This is a throw back to the cold disastrous Spring when I ordered some but the seller sent me a furry leopard skin patterned head band instead  ! I joke not...by the time I got a refund the warm weather had come , hence Im finishing the cycle today ...

Our beloved country

Whats going on ? Today I hear another news story that quite frankly is the most worrying thing ive heard ever . The Home Office today announced that it was considering allowing our courts the power to hand   out  prison sentences of up to 5 years to people who they judged to be at risk of harming children . Sounds fair enough ? Protect children . Cant argue against that , right ? Well wrong because the prison sentence would be dished even if NO ACTUAL OFFENCE HAS TAKEN PLACE !  Since when do we give prison sentences to people we THINK  might commit a crime ( however vile ) . Of course no one will bat an eye lid today because they may be seen as condoning such crimes . Of course our government will start handing out prison sentences in this fashion to the most despised people in our society because its popular . How long before they take offence at whats said or done by you or me ? Not long....

Oh dear.....

Ohhhhh Ive just woken up from a very deep sleep at my bed time . Now I'm in a daze and feeling a bit rough . I'm exhausted tonight as Ive not felt 100% all week . Its like having a cold and feeling groggy but it never comes to a head and I'm waiting for the day I wake up and are properly ill , there again it may never come ....
  Today has been the first proper chilly day of winter with the wind  tonight  is roaring out side . The stars are bright , the sky is black and a new moon is showing itself . The sun was lower today and a silvery winter light light up the ground as the grass blew in the wind . Gone is that horrible dry heat and eternal summer warmth . Fantastic !

A problem for the next generation

The International Monetary Fund has revised our economic growth forecast upwards from 0.4 to 1.9% . Mean while the rest of the worlds forecast is downwards . Mmmm there is a reason why our economy is holding on by the skin of its teeth ; our Government has been creating bonds out of thin air so the banks have money to lend ! How we laughed at President Mugabe when he printed money in Zimbabwe  . We in the " civilised  "world are no better . Our country is 10 billion pounds a month short of " making ends meet " . With all our " austerity " savings the government had to " rework " the figures at the last minute of the financial year in order to be able to show a small saving of 5 billion . That's how ineffectual their budgeting is . A rot has set into our country that can never be put right ....

And here is another story I had to check out just to make sure I wasn't on the wrong tracks  . There is a program coming to Channel 4 tonight called Sex Box ! Unbelievably the review said two random people go into a room ( that's the box I presume ) and have sex , then come out and rate each others performance with an audience . Really ? The contestants will include all races and disabilities . Am I getting old ? I can think of several alternative titles for this show or " box " . Apparently it is challenging taboos ( and this is good because we aren't capable of doing that ourselves..... )   Again I despair . Times must be hard for TV with internet competition but this just takes the rip .

Nutty

Every know and again a story comes along on the news that just really tests you . Have you the viewer got hold of the " wrong end of the stick ? "  Well unbelievably in this story it is as I present it .Ive watched it twice just to check .
  Ive never been remotely interested in football , but a match that's going on today caught my attention for all the wrong reasons . Apparently one team has a strong Jewish connection , Tottenham   and the Metropolitan Police said in an interview that the word " Yid " ( apparently a slang word referring to things Jewish ) would not be tolerated during the match . In fact anyone guilty of using this word in a football chant would be singled out on the cameras and would be visited at their home address and would have a court appearance . So I presumed there must be some anti- Jewish feeling among the oppositions sides supporters , but no , it was the Jewish Tottenham  sides fans he was referring  to . So lets get this right . The Jewish supporters were been told to not use a word in a chant even though they were using it about themselves in case it offended anyone else ? WTF !!! 
   The head  of the Met was on BBC Breakfast this morning explaining this stupid scenario , and looking a little embarrassed . So who told him to say this . It must have come from very high up and from a narrow source as not many people could have such a stupid viewpoint . The moral of the story is someone will always be offended if you look hard enough . In fact you may look very hard indeed if needs must....

Tired

Im shattered !  We have been mending a roof today that ive meant to fix  for years . I was getting tired of botching it up every winter so now the job is done right . A hot bath and a new copy of Fast Ford await  me tonight ...

My number one rant about blogger is when my blog switches   to " measure your own page views " . It does this occasionally all by its self . It takes several days of resetting the tab before it holds . Why would anyone want to measure their own page views ? . Maybe if you had a split personality ? I dont know.....

Mundane day ( whats coming ? )

Today has been a mundane day . Too warm and weary . A drop in temperature would be welcome and a fresher feel . Not got anything exciting to say . I am however looking forward to watching a DVD of Wolfen I bought on ebay this week and a Chinese takeaway to compliment it !
  Strangely it turns out I don't need glasses , apparently my eyes are normal for my " age "  Now that is depressing.....I am actually not convinced by the test as my eyes still feel strained writing now , so I may ( probably wont ) get a second opinion . I dont trust experts nowadays . I did once , but things change....

A ramble again

An unsettling day . Its been a hazy far too warm day . Now its come on wet and the rain is pouring . People I know have had a series of disasters this week  . I wonder if bad luck drifts over certain geographical areas like the weather ? Bad events seem to cluster . The last time this happened was after Christmas . Feeling uneasy .
   I have noticed over the last few years how different I feel first thing when I wake up . Each season has a very bespoke mind set . Waking up on Spring morning feels like a new cycle . Summer , vague uneasiness that's suppressed by work . Autumn mornings anxious until all the leaves have fallen . Winters well , relaxed and contemplating me , also just getting the basics done is life affirming .
  Tomorrow morning I have an eye test . My eyes are worsening to the extent Im getting a headache typing and I cant judge parking distances close to me too well resulting in some near miss moments. I shudder to think how I will look though as Im not a pointy faced glasses type ! Its all change at the moment....

Ammunition may be used from up to 60 years ago.  Point and spray . You cant miss . Can be wielded by anyone from a child to an adult . You may never have to justify its use . Pull the trigger and you will be applauded.....

Everywhere I look at the moment hear about the Nazis

1) Celebrity Ruby Wax blames the BBC for not including her story in a TV series which looks into famous peoples ancestry because its yet another story of someone who has lost family in history this way .

2) The Golden Dawn  ( good blog title though ! )  party in Greece has been compared to the Nazis in style and command structure in a leaked report on the news .

3) The Sunday Telegraph ( always a colossus for synchronicity ) has the headline " Hitlers Hollywood Years"  on the front of a weekend magazine extra .

There have been numerous other instances recently I cant quite recall right now , can something be causing this ? The media seem to have Nazis on the brain . Oh yes another....

4) Nigel Farage ( UKip party ) has been accused of being a fan of Hitler in his youth by a teacher at  his old school . A smear tactic no less .

5) A new one just now no less . David Milibands  ( Opposition Leader ) father was a Marxist jew who " hated Britain " so said the right wing Daily Mail  this week  . Now in the news today it is revealed that back in his fathers day The Daily Mail was writing articles in support of Hitler no less.....  

What this tells us is associating anyone with the Nazis is a smear tactic . The latest version of the " Sexual allegation " that has plagued so many of my childhood entertainers . Of course there will be other explanations too .....
