Depressing and Confusing
Im sat on a gloomy night feeling stressed about cars. Even though ive found a very good internet company who delivers cars to test drive for a week Im begining to think after driving my first 2 choices that what Im looking for deceased years ago. When you drive a BMW and a VW Golf GTI and are disappointed with the handling then where do you go from there ? Premium brands that were once revered as the " ultimate driving machine " or the " greatest hot hatch " are in fact now just distant echoes of what they once were. Oh, they look very nice but its all exterior gloss and image which quickly disappoints once they are driven. When did this decline happen ?
Meanwhile You Tube reviewers satisfy the algorithms and hype up the perceived quality brands. When I think of the hours ive spent watching these people review cars that ive now driven and found to be anything but what they say. I dont think they " rock the boat " with honesty if it contradicts popular opinion. I mean how anyone can call the Golf GTI the greatest all rounder is beyond me. Road noise, poor handling and the classic VW mis-firing engine saw me otherwise disagree. The quality has long gone.
So im going around in circles tonight wondering whether cars really are going to fill a hole in my being anymore. I think a lack of fun to drive midrange models that dont cost £30,000 is the problem here and manufactures who no longer care about a product I think that is now aimed mainly at millennials who know no different. I also believe that modern cars are aimed at people who just want to drive around town. I might go so far as to say they are aimed at women more than men today ? Car adverts certainly push this image. Talking of adverts my daughter noticed that women that appear in them as a rule are all portrayed as dancing... Weird. I dont think anyone feels like dancing in the UK at the moment.

Im going to knock you out !
Nice one neighbor, that escalated quickly...just 5 seconds into a row and threats of violence occur. What was it about ? Why dogs. Its always dogs. Seems dogs fighting on the road has become the equivalent of dogs attacking humans. Dog owners certainly react as though it is so. The same can be said of the Police who rang me next day to warn me that the incident had been recorded as a " dog attack ". I said no one had ever been attacked and since when did dogs briefly fighting matter more than a physical threat of violence ? " Well sir, you have to realize he was very worked up " Oh well then, I shall just let it go then ? After complaining about this his behavior it has been recorded as threatening on Police records, but not by default as you would expect.
The greatest irony as I pointed out to no avail to this dog walker was that he was complaining about the two dogs fighting as he was threatening to " knock me out ". He didnt see my point at all. How quickly people themselves resort to dog like behavior in these incidents. It takes a split second to reduce a human to an animal when humans see dogs as human too. His reaction was as though his dog was a child. Its all becoming disturbingly common and no doubt lockdown stresses are surfacing here to.
Every time I drive past a dog walker I now feel angry and there are a lot of dog walkers here all trudging along like ticking time bombs primed to explode in self righteous aggression. How has the simple act of walking a dog walk so contorted, tense and violent ? Worst of all is that dog owners are totally unaware until that fateful split second occurs. Dogs are not human. Trouble is coming...
