Kendal R.I.P

Whats happened to Kendal ?  Its slowly become a mass of  Booze stores , Charity shops and Pawn shops plus more than a few empty shop fronts boarded up . This has happened very fast , but Kendal always had its head up its own ass with a " why do you want to buy that ? " mentality often displayed by its retail workers. Its people were insular and far too secure in the glorious past when the Lakes were not in competition with foriegn holiday destinations or Internet / ebay shops . Add to this stupid Lib Dem bearded with glasses councillors commissioning corrupted traffic flow and pollution reports to justify a stupid pedestrianisation of the town no one wanted and you have the perfect storm  ....  Oh and a years constant rain is the final nail ( maybe I exagerate ) in the coffin !
