Syked Out !

Its a remarkably warm October night, but rain is in the air as dark clouds loom at the bottom of the valley. Summer has not yet ( but Im assured it will soon ) give up its fight. Summer seems to have gone on for ever this year.
Just down the road there are exuberant shouts coming from what was once a large house that belonged in our family. Today its an upmarket holiday house that's rented out to large families that descend, drink all weekend then go home.
They drive second hand prestige cars such as Audi's and BMW's . On average they re cars are around 5 years old. The primary colours are Red and Black. The average age of the groups who descend is 35. The men's wives or girl friends go jogging together. They are a fine sight ! They take care of their appearance despite family obligations. They have practical wives, the sort that make other men jealous. I bet there are affairs.... Their children are aged between 7 - 14. The families are all working class who are doing well, or want to appear as though they are doing quite nicely. The wives play their part by keeping fit ( its a team effort )  Once they arrived in work vehicles, but not any more....

Cant sleep ?

Ive said it once, and I shall say it again. The BBC World Service is worth the Television Licence fee alone. Its fresh, its world orientated, and its snappy reporting and magazine type programs based on people who have been in truly extraordinary situations due to life is simply fascinating. This station doesn't just report the conventional news stories, but also finds the more interesting and obscure subjects. And the best part is the stations jingle that has an Indian, world type of sound, but with a slightly off and edgy pitch to it. It grabs my attention, excites me, captures the spirit of the station, and I never tire of hearing it. All in all the perfect station !
