The Changing of the Guard

Today I visited the dentists in Sedbergh, and as I had no loose change for the car park I decided to park out side my late Grandads house on the out skirts of the town. I was not quite prepared for what I saw next. As his house was sold a while ago I expected to see a few changes, and there surely were some. New windows, scaffolding all over the place, privet hedge ( his obsession ) cut down, his rose garden ( what he lived for ) grassed over. Despite all these changes what really brought tears to my eyes was seeing that his old rhubarb patch was still growing in its little corner. This is actually the case in my other late grandparents house and garden too. Its funny how something as mundane as rhubarb can survive so long, in fact it still grows  generations later long after old houses have been long ago abandoned, I have  also seen this happening elsewhere. Whatever we value in life will be soon dismantled by the next generation . Its a sad fact of life unfortunately.

Well it would have been funny...

Im having trouble with my internet, but that's not so unusual. I have tried to cut and paste two photographs to comic effect showing the likeness of  a young Marlon Brando to the character Hiro the steam train from the Thomas the Tank Engine series. However the photo's keep disappearing and in the place of the Hiro photo graph a web address that reads something about " nanoblog racist " appears in its place. Thats odd, even by my standards.
