Oh man ! Danny Boyle's Olympic opening ceremony . What a dream like performance . This man took so many risks producing this spectacular . I mean if you were a film producer of his British calibre wouldn't you have just played safe ? I think i would have done unfortunately but he let his heart rule his head and for that i salute him . The teenagers messaging and the NHS scene with the  dark huge figures was a risk but it did sum up Britain today weather you love or loave what this country has become . Well coloured people cant complain it was too white or main stream , and as for the music choice FANTASTIC . Wish i could have seen the Queens face when the Sex Pistols  " Pretty Vacant " came on . I would have put that on a pay to view....

Yes the preety young blond has always been at the top of the pile of a mans attractions from the beginings of a teenager visiting a shop  just to get near the check out girl for a moment of banter ( remember doing that ?  )  to a family man having a crafty sideways glance in the street ... Yep they come and go out of fashion but always return after so long . They are iconic . They are re-invented with a sexy twist by each new generation . Dont believe me ? Look to the sixtys and every decade since . Today i might not get the styles but someone will !!!!!

Cars and football , mate !

Had a good night washing my car with clean mains water down at Dent . Now this sounds silly if you always wash your car this way but it dont half shine afterwards compared to using a peaty , dirty farm water supply .So much so people comment on it . The difference is the equivilent of a waxing  easily.... So thats why town cars shine in Kendal . Going to invest in a roll up hose pipe to connect to the kitchen sink ( when Rachels at work ha ha ) to wash my car with in future .
     Tonight i could hear people shouting on the football field franticaly during a match . Probaly the same people who shouted franticaly at primary school . Big heads and all egos and always the ball should be about to be passed to them .... bla bla bla   But tonight the church bells were being run and was drowning out there stupid racket.... ah bliss , there is a " God " Thank goodness primary school is long gone as you first get pigeon holed there and then a little less at secondary school cos less people knew youre past there ....

What a night . Evie has a cold and is screaming . She walk up at 5am and am sweating and knackered now tonight . Nursery rymes are playing . Switched on newsnight for some sanity and its on about Britian been the European center for female genitalia mutilation operations ... turn to BBC 1 and a horribley mashed up faced man is jabbering about  .  summat . Well fuck that for viewing after a long hard day....

What a strange summer it is turning out to be . The weather is dull and cool ( no complaints from me ) when at its best and torrential rain anyother time . Today is a windy warm weary day in Dent and rain is due again tonight . The summer holidays have begun and god knows what kids do today... i dont think they build dens nowadays ! Am i sounding old ? Yeah things are certainly different than in my day . Anything seems to go and there is no shame .
  A mower we bought to cut the jungle of rushes we have broke twice last week . Now its fixed at last and im going for it on the high ground . Feels good clearing ground for the sheep to graze again . If you dont fight nature it will bury you in undergrowth and choas . At the same time you gotta work with it and her seasons or you will come to a halt !!! A delicate balancing act ive watched all my life....

I have proqured a child and shall tutor her in the ways of rightousness...

Hair cut

Went to Kendal this morning to get my hair cut by a surly girl who could barely speak . She started by not been able to fit the cutting combe . As she was learning i said that this isnt filling me with confidence . She replied she was qualified at college but they didnt cut mens hair there and no training was offered for it . This reassured me and worried me at the same time ! Any way it turned out fine.....

A mental beating

Its funny what we get into our heads sometimes . Ideas take hold and coast like a train taking us far down the line often into a lot of worry and stress .  We   jump to our own conclusions too soon often based on fear or insecurity  before we could  find out the true facts . A lot of energy is wasted doing this . A lot . Its a sad feeling when you realise the stress youve gone through caused by a stupid false idea you recklessly couldnt help giving yourself a mental beating with . The upside is the sudden realisation your worry was a crock of shit ! If only you had given yourself the chance of a level headed view point at the start...oh well all is well that ends well.

Face grip

This is my weekend challenge ! To keep off facebook till Sunday night or Monday morning . Oh God im blurring the goal already . My ramblings on their are getting the better of me  and maybe here is their true home , also denying yourself something you want tests one too the limits!  Self control never was my forte . I will probably fail but that will be a sad indictment on me .

Something in the air ?????

Is it just me or can you sense something is terribely wrong  in the air . I hate this ,its so reall i can feel it physicaly .  A general stench of trouble and loss of what makes us feel alright . Worst of all it spreads over everyone i know at the moment like a dark cloud . This scares me . Not happy at all . Kind of like a dark front fucking up or taking what we value . Im scared where it gonna end , i really am .When it started is hard to tell but i hope it goes away soon but thats a bit childish cos i dont think its gonna work this way . Cant get a grasp on the mind set of this summer it all seems so alien to a few months ago . Ive changed as much as i can and cant change any more . I think we all feel this way at the moment . Tough times so hold tight.....

My first lap top post from " home "

Is it me or have things changed with a crashing unsophisticated dull thud . Life is O.K but O.K doesnt get the fires burning now though does it ? Just getting what you need barely is not the fun  excess is and mad times of indulgence .... plod on , plod on with hope in your heart and a worthy distraction but always be true to your true passions .

Doing the science on my laptop....

Only a few days to go and we will have a land line and broadband at my house in Dent . This will mean i can update my blog when i feel like or go on fb anytime of night making it easier to chat to people...  Its been a while coming but returning home from holiday really made me decide i was gonna go ahead with it . My only concern is Rachel may hogg the lap top all night ! Or will i ?

David has bought a diesel !

Yes my long running car saga has finally ended ( i hope )  Due to being totally sickened by garage bills and running costs i have bought an 08 fiesta diesel  a   1.4 so only £30  a year too tax then  . It is a five door so no leaning over the front seats putting Evie in anymore . I hope no one remembers my anti-deisel rants of the past, but i am bracing my self for a pasting on facebook ! I admit those who take pleasure in the piss tacking that will surely come will be totally justified because  after all ive done the very thing i said i wouldnt . ( buy a diesel ! ) But remember the saying " A full circle reveals the truth "  Round and round ive gone.....Plus i will still be driving my focus so i havent totally sold out... yet .

Those evil Chinese have scuppered a special non whaling zone in the middle of the Pacific Ocean . Bhaaaa  ! Funnily enough even the anti -whaling organizations admit there has been no history or any plans of ever hunting whales in this area ! Mmmm everyone resorting to type in a pointless dance .

What an emotional time its been , never known a week like it ! All change for sure and im hoping i will somehow have a chance to regain what ive lost recently . I can only hope.....

Wimbledon

Last night saw the roof being drawn over the court till Andy Murray neatly finished his match nearly bang on the closing time of 11 pm . The tension built up as the night went on but why could they not have started the match in the morning in decent time thus avoiding up setting everyones  plans for the day , plus stressing out the players in the process . I dont know why but i guess there will be a reason.... probaly a really stupid one !
