Your not so stupid are you ?!

Today my radio told me an African man visiting a relation in Texas was seriously ill with ebola, a highly infectious disease. He had  flown from Africa. He was not ill when he set off. Its all entirely predictable and YOU saw it coming didn't you ? Yes, but those in power dare not take unpopular travel controls to prevent a crises BEFORE it happens.

We have mealy mouthed medical experts with cutting edge funding, research and training, but this makes us complacent, nay even arrogant that we are above nature. Nature is not feared anymore, but the truth is it is always the winner. We need a reality check and some humility, and some caution. A crises never starts of as a crises, it SUDDENLY becomes one ! Things SUDDENLY explode...


Oh, and of course we all new that the removal of certain dictators in the Middle East would backfire didn't we ? Yes we ranted in out kitchens, to our friends and on-line, we all saw it coming.... so why couldn't our leaders see it coming ? Was it their own self interests that blinded them ? If so then shame on them. We " ordinary " people rant about so much, but we see the world as it is, and without sounding arrogant, what needs to be done. If we were in power, would we DO it ? Mmmm....

Its all in the Game...

Maybe its just me getting older, but I swear women are holding onto their attractive appearance longer, and some will never let it go and will never have had to try while doing it either. I feel nowadays that when women become mothers it does not completely define them. They certainly do not let themselves go ! The very fact that women in general are having children later makes this fact even more puzzling. If they were having children younger then of course that would be the reason, but their not.

  Strangely at the other end of the spectrum teenage girls are growing up in appearance faster, starting at about 12 or so. They seem to be or is it their mothers who seem to be competing with them on appearance ? Maybe they are, well of course they are both stages of the same cycle, but the child is starting to play the looks game earlier, and the parent is playing it longer ! Yes, thats it, that's whats changed today. Females being females whatever stage their at will be quite aware what the other is doing, and rather amusingly they will never  discuss it. A bizarre game indeed ?

Insanity !

I have been told I need to repay a large sum of money to a Government Agency.

On phoning them I talk to a robot that miss reads what I say.

Ultimately I go round in a circle after being given various numbers that lead back to the one I started out from.

When the payment dead line expires, I think they will contact me in a manner that I deserve . Suddenly I will speak to someone, dont you worry...

Seasonal Disorder ?

On hearing our Parliament is to be called back into service a few weeks earlier to deal with the ISIS crises, I suddenly realised that they are not debating in the Summer time. In fact they only return to work as Autumn starts and Winter looms. All the bad winter weather and dark short days must affect the mood of politicians as they argue. Maybe if they met during the Summer months things may be a bit less confrontational and a little more positive. In genuinely believe the energy of Summer would do them the world of good and would lead to more co-operation in getting this country back to where it was when I left school.

MOAN AND BITCH !

I have recently discovered an excellent feature on Face Book ( yes that is possible.) This is the themed page  presented by an organisation or person unknown who wants to provoke discussion of a single topic or view point. The page which has so much of my attention at the moment is devoted to airing peoples grumbles and moans concerning a certain local town, and everything thats " wrong " with it.  Yes its none other than " ******  MOAN AND BITCH  "
  Just when I thought people had forgotten how to have fun online Ive found this joyous forum !  I find  reading peoples local whinges is  much more entertaining than reading bland or stupid status updates. The added bonus is I dont know any of them even though they are " local ". That feels odd too ...
 Yes this is fun, and finding out others see the town the same way or even violently disagree in ways that make me shake my head only adds to its attraction. Yep lets all fire at will ! lol

The Universal Woman ?

You know there is a very strange kind of woman around. A very rare breed. Her posture, her body language, her dress sense, her hair style and general aura all scream out that she is in her late teens, and then shock horror, only when she turns your way and reveals her face, do you actually see she is in her forties !
  Today I saw such a woman. By the way she sat and held herself, and the fact she had a slight figure , all meant  I would have sworn she was a teenager, even her hairs texture appeared that of a girl . Her aura or image was that of youth, or a young girl approaching womanhood. This clash of reality's made me just want to stare and stare. To watch a woman like this could occupy me all day. Fascinating ! And how does her mind tick ? Does she play on it ? Does her partner like it ? Ooooeeer, I think this post must end here !

Why dont we pick our apples in Britain ?

  

Im not quite sure why, but no-one seems to pick apples grown in their gardens anymore. They just ripen and are left to fall to the ground. We have had two good dry Summers and now a very unseasonal dry start to Autumn which has produced a nice crop. Are people un-aware of the apples hanging, are they too lazy to pick them ? Maybe no-one cooks anymore or makes pies or jams ? Its been a good Summer and nature has provided for free ? So whats the problem ?  Maybe I should name and shame ?!

Sorry for your wait ?!

The establishments which we buy our prepared food from such as Pubs, Cafe's and Mc Donalds have always been care full to be as polite as possible to us to retain our custom, but what happens when there are no more nicety's to pour upon us ? Well they tell us they are sorry for our wait ! If there was a wait then I wouldn't mind. Its now a standard phrase they trot out to make us feel in debt for their effort and service. Stop telling me your sorry, its bunkum !!!

Women bow down to the Gods of appearance, hence they are easy targets for cosmetic company's like L'Oreal. Of course the irony is we are all ageing together, but L'Oreal wont tell you that...

Nope, not the most exciting of subjects, but Bottle Jacks always make me smile ! Why ? Because they remind me of growing up on my Father's farm as a child. He had one one, and yes, its still present and working correctly 30 years later. Its the oldest item still on the farm and is in my eyes an heir loom of sorts. Even better though is the fact that these intensely strong simple jacks are still being sold today. I find myself wanting to buy a new one now, just so I can look at it in my shed. Im getting sentimental again ...

My simple enthusiasm for mundane items is often mistaken as sarcasm.
