Why Are Bloggers So Insular In General ??

Image result for blogger logo imageIm at a funny point in my blogging. My stats are scarce all of a sudden, so ive had a little foray into some online groups concerning the Supernatural world. Ive posted some of my photo's and received much feed back and comments. It is especially now that I find myself considering just how much posting on blogger is a lonely exercise. Of course the answer is to share a link to your own blogs on the groups on line forum page that you follow. But as every man and his dog does likewise, this sees your link quickly lost in a sea of very slick, very professional blogs. It has not led to the viewing stats I was unfortunately expecting. Everyone is promoting something in the esoteric world, many want paying for doing so as well. Its been quite an eye opener !

I have found so far two very interesting blogs that I shall be following. One is written by a woman who writes about something ive been through myself, and whats better is her blog is about what occurs afterwards, which is also where Im at now funnily, very nice timing. This woman has great wisdom, and her writing gives me that " eurika " feeling you get when an author strikes a chord with you on a deep personal level.

This in fact reminds me how 18 months ago I stumbled upon a blog that revealed to me that others had had similar experiences to me, and that a famous psychologist ( Carl Jung )  had produced his own theories concerning these strange happenings ( thanks Mina ! ) Yes, a good blog can really open your eyes and lead you out of a dark place. It can also polorise your views and give them some structure, or form to grasp at. There are not many people out there like these bloggers, but somehow they seem to get found by the right people.

And so to my biggest gripe of all. WHY ARE BLOGGERS SO DAMNED INSULAR ?  Ive been posting for about 4 years and ive only had one regular commenter ! Even when my stats were high the people passing through very rarely commented, WHY ?  A comment brings a blog alive. How else is a person to get any feed back ? At the beginning this didn't bother me, but today its getting a bit annoying. I must say it is so refreshing to mix with people on a forum who communicate about what you have written. The smaller the forum the better too. No, Im not really sure where Im going at the moment. Time will tell. Im not out of inspiration, just a little tired of seeing another online site that is much more sociable. Of course I once relished the freedom and isolation of blogger, maybe ive changed recently. I suspect so.

Are You A Racist ?

COON, WOG, NIGGER....COLOURED ? !     Yes, every generation has had their crude nick names to describe black  (  it seems this word is funnily still acceptable ) people and races. My parents generation may have used the word Coon, and their parents probably said Nigger. Each generation has quickly found the terms they commonly and thoughtlessly used ( sometimes quite innocently ) suddenly cause great upset and offence to the current or latest generation. Steadily every generation has had to modify their language so as to not offend. I guess  just keeping ahead of this curb requires constantly being in touch with society's mood and fashions. To get caught out is no great shame, as I guess its just a natural progression you cant see coming. But what about when this distorted view overtakes YOU ,and YOU just like your parents find yourself  on the " wrong " side on the line ?

Today an actor ( Cumberbatch ? Ive lost touch with new actors, and that's for another post... ) found himself feeling he had to apologise profusely for using the word " coloured " to describe black actors. I feel this phrase is acceptable and quite respectable, but it seems I am out of touch ! Yes, that day has come to me, and Its really annoyed me as I found myself shouting at my radio news broadcast this morning.

You see the big problem with any pressure group, be it feminist or racial equality ,is that over time people do actually move with their agenda, but its never enough is it ? They constantly lower the bar as to whats required to be classed as completely unacceptable. They of course have to do this to keep up their agenda which is not quite so benign as you might think. You give an inch, they take two. Its a never ending cycle and once you are forced to give ground you have lost all your moral kudos. Of course the words of the past are now far too crude for use, but where are we going today ? I think people who dislike the word coloured just want to be offended. Its as simple as that....

As I Get Older...

- Its still true

- A woman cannot smile convincingly until she is at least 30 years old

- Anyone under this age sporting a smiley profile picture triggers suspicion in me, they also look      totally out of their depth too, however attractive they may be...

Gaunt, Stubble, Running leggings ? Oh *******

Why do men who run look so damned ill  ? Women who run look quite positively vibrant and glowingly healthy. Men look gaunt, white, stubbly and withdrawn in the face. Its not a good look, and when twinned to those stupidly tight fitting running leggings the results are quite possibly farcical ! Maybe the difference is that women carry more of their body mass as fat so they tend not so often to reach that silly, I look like I'm about to die stage. This male appearance of imaciation seems to be closely linked with health ? F**** knows why...

Women look awesome, even when running. Men ? Well we just look rubbish...

Raising My Temperature...Grrrrrrrrrrrr !

Ive moaned on this blog before how about how our weather forecasters are physcoticaly obsessed with temperature. In Summer they tend to add a few degrees onto their predictions verbally by saying that we " might " reach these temperatures ". They like to please you you see...
This morning I exploded in a rant of expletives as Carol Kirkwood  said temperatures today would be mild, but then added ( and I could sense by the stupid look on her face what she was thinking ) " but not mild as in the high teens kind of way  we would see in Spring "  Yep, she just couldn't stop herself associating the comparatively mild weather for January with the much warmer mild temperatures of Spring. You stupid woman its bloody January. Stop playing the temperature game, its Winter and its cold, whether you like it or not. I may sound paranoid, but the fact she couldn't resist making this silly comparison vindicates my suspicions. Pathetic !!

In The Rich Mans World...

I have invested in an expensive " soft closing " toilet seat. It cost me 40 pounds ( there maybe pictures ) Its a lot for a toilet seat, but when I sit on it without flexing , and then watch the lid sink slowly closed so quietly, I then see that its all been worth while ( no, Im not joking ) Exactly what this strange purchase symbolises I have no idea.
Im in the mood for buying quality things as replacements for out going items such as Jeans, Spanners, Coats ect. My biggest cost this Spring will be paying for my 8 x 12 ft shed. This will arrive in March. I shall place my new tools in it. There comes a time for renewal every so often. Good clothes become work clothes for example. In fact Marks & Spencers have some ranges of clothes that actually fit me so well that people have complimented me on how good they are. Now thats a real shock ! Time for some multiple purchases while these clothes are in stock, because one day they will be gone forever. I know this because if they fit me then they will be unpopular, and wont sell. Its always the way.

An Uncomfortable Truth

Over Christmas a very interesting report came out of the U.S.A. In fact so enlightening and uncomfortably myth quashing were its conclusions, that its generally been ignored (not surprisingly ) as it upsets all weve been taught regarding diet and health. Basically research has shown the 2/3 of cancer cases are the result of chance, just the human body screwing up to put it bluntly. Foods which have traditionally been linked to increased cancer such as the much maligned meat products, are  now it seems not the threat we have been made to believe. Of course this makes sense. I mean how can a natural food be dangerous ?
As a farmer ive watched so called experts for years misaligned meat with cancer. Its had me fuming having my produced compared to the likes of cigarettes. At last some common sense has prevailed. Now it just needs some of those so called health experts to publicly eat their words and apologise. No pun intended. No doubt people will still continue being misguided as its a coping mechanism for the chaos of life. Of course there is nothing more scary than the thought that disease is random. I can have some sympathy there, but its time to wake up. Food is not a threat. God, how did we even get here ?!!!

Of course some may avoid meat for ethical reasons. I have friends who are vegetarian too...This is not the axe Im grinding here, its the false links to ill health that have been peddled. I need to make that clear !!

The Smell Of Desperation / Trying too hard ?

Lilly Lee's photo.

When a woman tries too hard to make herself into what she thinks a man wants to see, men loose all respect for her and reduce her to the very thing she does not want to be seen as. Thats the irony this next facebook generation of females hasn't learnt yet. Truth be told they are feminist in their views about being equal to men nowadays on all fronts, so why do most they sell themselves out when it comes to their image ? We men are often blamed for seeing women as sex objects, so why do these women keep on playing along with this image  ? I mean just look at that boob job ( or airbrushing ) and stupid inane  " try me you'll like me " grin. What first impression is that giving to a man  ?( and I doubt if its there to impress other women )

Another Landslide !

This week we have had another landslide on Rise Hill, its the lower one on this photo. The smaller higher one occurred two Summers ago and is nothing compared to the latest one. Water saturating the land here is the cause, but it hasn't been much rain really compared to last years disastrous weather...

It All Started With A Favour...

I have a paranoia of how a small thing can spiral out to become something major. Here is a nice little example. I lent out our tractor to a relation for a day, as he was doing some building work. When he returned it, a screw had fallen off the gear lever. So what ? No big deal ? Today I found a suitable lengthed screw to replace it with, and on screwing this into the gear knob, the tractor promptly stalled and cut out. Mmmm, not a coincidence then ? It turns out a fuse had blown caused by the screw I used being twice the length of the original. I guess is extra length  must have shorted out on a wire or something. What started off as a trivial none essential screw missing, eventually led several weeks later eventually to this mechanical breakdown. No tractor, means the cows cant be fed, the weekend approaching too...Yes, everything spirals out and out from a seemingly insignificant event. Its my nightmare !!

This morning I find the screw has broken the split gear button on the knob. I knew there would be something else here...

Only Where I Live

Yesterday someone stole our old Christmas tree. I had thrown it outside our front door. This made me raise my eyebrows. Today someone has RETURNED IT ?!  WTF

We need more people with practical skills in this country. Try getting a Plumber or Electrician for example. The sad, sad truth is that young people do not want to be seen to be doing any job that's manual or non " professional " . It doesn't help when we have lost our traditional industries either. People do get respect for doing these jobs as they provide often essential services to bigger businesses. In Agriculture they are life savers in an emergency ( well not literally obviously ) I hold them in highest respect. I need them !  We don't need anymore money wasted on sending questionable youngsters to Uni only for them to leave and end up doing a job they are over qualified for. That's a waste of everyones time. And have you seen how much a Plumber or Mechanic charges nowadays ? It is no longer an ill paid profession !

Polar Opposites

I live in a modern house, but in a historic village. I have a killer view out of my back door, including beautiful sunsets in Winter and Summer. Despite all this, the row of houses where I live has NO atmosphere what so ever. The rest of the village with its subtle aura, its cobbled streets and quaint shops ( sorry that should be SHOP ! ) does not penetrate, or rub off on my cul de sac.  Inside my house is the same. I have  by cramming in various items I like, managed to force a little character into my surroundings.
Things do however change when I go to work. When I reach the farm, then its atmosphere overload. As my parents house was built in the 1700's ( instead of the 1990's like mine ) there is an overwhelming presence always. I guess travelling to and thro  between the two makes this painfully obvious to me. A modern house will never feel like an ancient one, but that does not excuse the extent to which my newer house lacks any aura at all. This is starting to disturb me more as time goes by.  Odd.

10 Jokes Only An Acedemic Will Understand

Er, yes, that's the title of an acidic little post I found on an in -laws fb page recently. It wouldn't be so bad if its intention had been humorous, but I sensed a mis-calculated intention to portray an elitist image to anyone reading. It was basically a nasty side swipe at those who had not had the same education as he had. Had someone else posted this I may well have laughed though.

There were 10 no doubt very funny jokes, and if I had studied the people or philosophies that made up the jokes ingredients, then I would have by all accounts been laughing, but I haven't. However I had a good stab at working out maybe what these ideas or theories were that made the jokes funny, by trying to figure out what was " missing " due to my educational short comings. A kind of mental algebra I guess. By doing this I think I got the jist of a few of them.

Just like a person I read about recently who turned their hand very successfully to a job of which they had no previous training, I used my intuition. This is a true sign of intelligence. It requires imagination and thinking outside the box. A stale rigid mindset using only what has previously been learnt is of absolutely no use here. A rigid mind set full of pigeon holes would have been of very little use here. You can only judge someones intellect if you can watch how they face a task that they have never experienced, or one outside their usual comfort zone. This is not something I expect the man who posted this collection of jokes would have understood either, funnily enough !
