A beautiful sight once again

This morning I saw a sight I haven't seen for a while . Two large Buzzards soaring round and round , climbing higher and higher in the sky . Sounds like some cheesey  TV film image , but it was beautiful . There was a boom in the buzzard population in the dale about 5 years ago and then they suddenly disappeared . Ive heard there are some local " numb nuts "  who shoot them illegally and probably poison them too . ( a Red Kite was found dead a while ago , the result of poisoning according to the RSPCA ) .Buzzards are scavengers so I don't know what threat they are meant to pose . Maybe some people resent  the fact these mighty birds soar so majestically and feel they must put them in their place . That's a strange idea but I really sense this maybe . Yes " small men who measure things " comes to mind !
